Decal Installation Tips

I. Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be considered dirty and must be cleaned prior to the application of markings. Recommended cleaning procedures for glass and plastic substrates are listed below.
Saturate a clean cloth with a 2 to 1 mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol and wipe the surface. (Cleaners such as Windex Window Cleaner may be used). Wipe the surface dry with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.

II. Temperature Requirements:
Air and application surface temperatures must be above 60°F.

III. Application Instructions- Flat Surface Only

A. Use 1" - 2"(2.5-5cm) strips of masking tape to position marking in proper registry.
B. Apply horizontal tape hinge at the top of the marking.
C. Remove liner entirely. Keep exposed adhesive off substrate. Spray water and detergent solution(1/2 part liquid dish water detergent to 99 1/2 parts water)
D. Allow marking to drape. Using firm initial squeegee pressure, begin at top center and work down and outward to each edge of mask.

E. Allow adhesive to bond(generally 15 to 30 minutes).
F. Remove premask at 180°(pull back on itself).
G. Resqueegee entire marking.

 

Magnetic Sign Tips

Follow these simple steps:

1. Make sure that the sign will fit the area on the vehicle
2. It must lay flat. DO NOT overlap locks, doors, moldings, or anything
    that will create an air pocket.
3. Apply magnetic signs to a clean flat surface
4. Do not leave magnetic signs on vehicle. It can trap moisture between
    the sign and vehicle.

 

Water Slide Off Decal Tips

Water slide off decals are fragile, handle with care.

1. Soak in cold water for 45 to 60 seconds.
2. Slide into position on the object
3. Let dry thoroughly
4. Apply a coat of varnish or acrylic clearcoat.
